It's neither Strife (which is one of my all time favourite games and I think everyone should play it) nor Witchaven (which was all kinds of meh, except the sequel which was pretty cool).

This game is from that same time as those two. EDIT: Except the screenshots do indeed use a more modern filter on them, it didn't look like that originally.

That's right. Sorry for the late reply.

It's (to my and many other people's knowledge) the first first person/3D (2.5D if you want to be an ass) MMO ever created. It also predates Ultima Online by almost two years.
