.erercott: Beating The Legend of Zelda: a link to the past.
After about ten years. I started it when I was a kid, got lost, didn't know how to progress and just moved on. Years later I got a snes mini and finally beat the entire game. It felt pretty magical.
That was me with Final Fantasy Legend 2, except that, rather than getting lost, I was having trouble with boss fights.

The first party I beat the second to last boss with, IIRC, was a 4 robot party. (Note that this means no magic, since robots couldn't effectively use magic until the remake.) The first party I beat the final boss with, I believe, incloded a slime god (one of the highest tier monsters); its ability to drain health kept it alive enough to defeat the boss.
