I've had absolutely unbearable dry eye pain for close to four months. In the beginning it was so bad that I had a hard time reading, was in constant pain and couldn't stand playing a video game. I found a product that gave me a bit of soothing but I still felt constant pain and discomfort, and still couldn't play most games with a lot of action going on screen at the same time.
I was really afraid in the first few weeks, as I had some college papers to do and they involved reading a LOT of pages with very dense and small text, which I simply couldn't bear. I had to ask someone to read me some the text aloud, and for my next research project the result was poorer than I wanted to because I couldn't bear doing sufficient research.
I ended up getting used to it with the product to soothe my eyelids but it still didn't treat the source of the problem. I think it's been caused by a combination of the extremely dry air in my apartment, and a diet lacking in vitamins. I bought a humidifier but the damage was already done.
Finally I found some interesting stuff on the Internet, gels caps designed to help regenerate tear film and soothe dry eyes, and special lubricant eye drops called Dwelle which help to recover the lost moisture in the eyelids. It took a long time but I imported these from the US and finally received them both.
It's only been five days that I've begun taking them but the difference is amazing. My eyes are recovering their wetness at an incredibly fast pace, and my eyelids' soreness is getting tamer constantly!
I've began to feel a whole lot happier because of this. Eye professionals were absolutely useless and kept telling me there was nothing wrong with my eyes because there were no obvious physical ailments for them to observe. But I knew they were wrong, and I found the cure myself. I'm happy I didn't lose hope, and I found a few games with little action going on screen and little scrolling to keep be sparsely entertained in the meanwhile (Dragon Age, Arcanum, and the original Baldur's Gate).
Soon I'm going to be able to delve in my gigantic backlog and play for hours on end without breaking a sweat like I always used to. Might & Magic VI is the one I can't wait to finish. My favorite game ever.

AndrewC: Small thing but it's these that matter: the girl at Subway remembered me and my usual order and just asked if I want the usual or something else which saved a lot of time for the both of us.

bansama: Yup, I love it when people do that. There used to be a fairly nice bakery near where I lived (before I moved) which would always ensure they kept at least one each of the items I tended to order from them aside so that when I came in it was all good to go.

I work at a local open-stall market here on Sundays, and everytime I buy a Gelato (they are awesome!), and the lady always remembers my order and gives me a dollar discount!
I got drunk. It makes me happy.
After 4 attempts, I FINALLY got my drivers licence today.
What the hell is going on here? ME posting in this thread? The universe must be having a weird turn, everyone quickly ask out that person who's way too hot and would normally ignore you. Shame I'm not anywhere nar uni today or I'd chat up that lecturer I fancy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m7njvwB-Ks that also makes me both happy and sad. Glad we got so much awesome metal but sad for the loss of dimebag

I recommend "you know how to handle my footlong"
I was in a great party yesterday and it made me REALLY happy. Ready to take on the world now, no hangover whatsoever. :)
Yes! Finally my account is unlocked and I have access to the money in my bank account (which at this point is all my money as I don't have any cash on me).
Also, I turned down the Nokia E71 work was going to send my way as an Easter bonus and instead insisted on getting the money equivalent and succeeded.
This in turn means that I'll get a Google Nexus One in early or mid-April which makes me a very very happy geek. I'd be even happier if I didn't have to pay tax on the shipment (which in this case adds another $100 to the price) but even with tax it's still cheaper to get it from the Google Store (with custom engraving) than it is to buy it off of Amazon.co.uk.
I've had a reasonably good one today, won a copy of Halo Legends from kotaku and got a reply from the cute brunette with awesome eyes I emailed the other day
I'll be on vacation for 15 days starting this tuesday.
