I have an old hp slim line which is about 8 years old. I want to start buying games from here and steam but am not sure what type of computer to get ? I recently downloaded a game called blossom tales which is like Zelda which I love and al Hi lossom tales looks 16 but my comp won’t play it . I need help buying a new computer which will play all games offered on gog and steam . Pls help
You want the red one.

EDIT: Perhaps a bit more detail as to which type of games you want to play? Especially given GOG has tons of old games (that are far better than modern ones), and could probably run on your current system.

I know shit about tech but this is the game he mentioned, that he can't play.

At least I think that's what he said. :P

First things first. What are your budget constraints in regards to buying new hardware?

Pssh. It's all about the speed, man! Everyone knows the red ones go faster.

I think e.g. this will do for now:

If you want some dinosaur desktop PC instead, sorry I can't help. Someone else knows modern Jurassic Park PCs better than me.

What about a blue one with a go faster stripe and fluffy dice in the window (this may be and English only thing so if so).

I like the magic purple, it's a nice compromise between the ice-cool blue and hot-rod red.
This all depends on which games you want to play and what your budget is.

Blossom Tales has pretty low requirements for these days, but other games have MUCH higher ones.

Knowing almost nothing about modern tech and prices, this one seems decent :) https://www.amazon.com/SkyTech-ArchAngel-Gaming-Computer-Desktop/dp/B01M3UKNVD

What I do know is that if you have the knowhow, the best deal is to buy the parts and assemble the PC yourself.

Of course this doesn't apply to laptops.

It is not, avoid unless much cheaper. Do not get a pre-Ryzen processor from AMD if avoidable.
Depends how you want to do it. Find a good all in one desktop or find components you'd like to use and build your own. The latter is more productive in the long run, but not necessarily the cheapest. A standard desktop shouldn't be too hard to find via Amazon etc.

So far this thread it's like when you're asking a group of people in a supermarket which cereal they like and you get 30 different choices.

Let's generalize it a bit:

a) What kind of PC do you want, a Desktop or a Laptop?
b) Do you have a budget in mind?**

**GOG and Steam combined offer thousands of games, some of which can run on a basic system while others require a beefier one. I'm not too familiar with hardware prices in the US, my guess is that a 550-600$ desktop is enough and will run most modern games decently.

What is your price range and what other games are you looking to play? That will help with the recommendations.
