Banned because I just reinstalled Linux on one partition and then when I tried to boot Windows it just showed the wallpaper with no icons, and the task bar, but nothing else will display at all, and when I click anywhere it shows the spinning circle and the screen gets faded and lighter, and then if I click again it goes back to the normal color, but still no icons appear, even though I didn't do ANYTHING to the Windows partition!!!

EDIT: And I can still access all of my files in the Windows partition when I'm in Linux, but I can't run any Windows programs if I can't boot Windows.

Banned because I don't use Linux to avoid this type of rigmarole.

Banned for being absolutely correct and pointing out the precise reason why I got Linux in the first place!

EDIT: I reinstalled and updated GRUB, so hopefully that will fix it.

^ banned for making me "plus-one" your post
Banned because installing and updating GRUB didn't change anything. I suppose I could try safe mode, but that will just allow me to get in so that I can change settings to see if I could fix the problem that way, but since I don't even know what the problem IS, I wouldn't know what to change, and it wasn't a problem with the settings in the first place, so how would that do any good?
Banned because I'd help you if I could, but I don't use Linux so I'm not sure what to do. You might have better luck in a Linux forum. There are other Linux users here on GoG, so you might get some answers posting in the general forum. Good luck.

Banned for not having Linux, and I figured all of this was a good enough reason for banning everyone, since people usually get banned for stuff which isn't their fault.
