Cool, but I never played the 3D worms games. Are they any good?

Thanks te_lanus and GOG gods! I assume that with a 3.5 star rating, the game is at least worth a play or two. Regardless, if the game is free, how much encouragement do you need to find out? ;-)

I had already gotten the game. I was merely curious.

Worms were pretty much a cult back in days - like Lemmings, but then the dev (Team 17) never released Linux port, so..

So, I personally, prefer and [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warmux]this. However, Worms Armaggeddon (1999) is still fun, as well as Worms3D. YMMV.

I've played Mayhem and it wasn't that good. Average (or mediocre if I'm being less charitable and frank) sums it up quite nicely.

I can't speak toward the rest of the 3D titles, but if the remainder have the same issue regarding camera control that Mayhem did then I really hope they make up for it in other areas.

To be honest, the game is quite alright. I've played this game once on my PS2 and had some fun playing the multiplayer with my brother. But yeah, I guess the 2d worms games are still ranked above the 3d ones in my opinion. The 3d worms games make the mobility around the maps seems longer.

Editt: Just went to Team17 website, seems there will be a round 2 so guess i'll just wait for it. :)

Tried to play it a little and i have my impressions after 30 minutes or so of doing the tutorial or so...

1) Floaty controls
2) Look movement is backwards (can be fixed)
3) aiming in first person is backwards (didn't see a fix)
4) Doesn't feel like the worms of old... not really.

Honestly if it was a game to convince you to buy more of their worms games, it did the opposite for me.
