Analysis time!
Let's mull over the hints, if any of you so care to (so far all my attempts to lure you in have failed but what the hell, I'll just do this to talk to myself if I have to):
Set 1
male crime fighter
sidekicks are mostly family
sidekicks have no superpowers
out smarts his arch rival
has more than one costume
Set 2
male crime fighter
sidekicks are mostly family
sidekicks have no superpowers
out smarts his arch rival
nominated no awards
Set 3
first contact
one of the main characters becomes a traitor
breathing apparatus required
robots work mainly for the bad guys
award winning
Sets 1 and 2 may likely refer to the same thing, i.e. the comic book character and its movie or possibly TV adaptation. It would make sense, as it fits into the pattern for being entries 10 and 11 (I don't think he'd be giving hints much higher than the bottom three empty slots). But... which one? Is the question. The number of comic book characters out there is just about innumerable, but comic book movie/TV series adaptations are far more limited, obviously. Even more so with the character's name in the title. Pretty much ALL of them that anyone knows about has been exhausted (look at the list, exactly
1100 wrong answers so far! We're practically on a ROLL here, baby!). so WHAT IS IT. I don't even care about winning this damn game anymore I want to know the insane logic behind this whole thing! AGGH.
OK now set 3 is more interesting. Obviously it has to be a sci-fi film, what with robots and all. "First contact" is vague. The first thing everyone might think is aliens, but that doesn't necessarily have to be the case. It could be first contact with some lost underground earth tribe or something. Or maybe a deadly pathogen that threatens to wipe out the planet (someone at the science lab made a slip-up and made "first contact," literally, physically, with this virus in question, and thus dooming humanity, hehe). "Breathing apparatus required." Most people obviously are going to think space or underwater. But say it is a virus. You'd need a breathing apparatus to make it through that shit without catching the disease. Or maybe the setting is so smoggy that you can't breathe the air anymore. Maybe there's a character with emphysema or something, I wouldn't put it past this game at this point. "Award winning"... Oscars, Emmies, or perhaps Golden Globe you might think. Not necessarily, there are a ton of different film festivals with their own awards out there. Maybe this won some obscure one. Maybe it was terrible and received a Golden Raspberry. Hey, that technically counts as an "award"! Maybe it won an award from a major website, either good or bad. "Award winning" suddenly becomes a very broad term.
And yeah, obviously this movie has to be pretty obscure by this point. Or a mainstream movie with modest success at best and perhaps a lukewarm reception that people have forgotten about. And is also a movie you'd never be able to tell what it's about based on its title alone.
The Last Mimzy, that one I had to look up, how many people even still remember that movie anymore? The Michael Clarke Duncan hint was pretty much the only way I figured that one out.
So my guess is... I don't know. I just don't know anymore. I think I'm at my limit with this game at this point. What are you guys' thoughts on these clues? Hope to get some stimulation going here, later now!
