Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

Hurm, a good point. Sorry, I already voted, but perhaps some other folks will see this and close the gap.

Potzato: Edit : I mean, if Cyanide is an indie dev studio, is Blizzard too ?

Gonadius: I don't see why not - After all, EA is an Indie dev.
Okay then, that clear things up :D

CarrionCrow: Oh yeah, definitely. Right now I've got Deus Ex 2 and Daikatana wishlisted, and I've probably seen or heard people talking about how much sphincter they suck for literally years now. But it's that level of disgust and loathing that makes me want to see the trainwrecks in their full awfulness, rather than getting secondhand horror stories.
Something like, say, Judge Dredd vs. Death, though....That just looks bad. No infamy, just plain old bad.
There are quite a few stinkers on my shelf and I bought them fully aware of their awfulness, a few to complete some series. Ultima IX, M&M IX, Blood 2, Deus Ex 2, and both Gothic 3's come to mind. The rest of the bad ones were purchased out of curiosity :P Though I can honestly say I was never enticed by Judge Dredd vs. Death.

Also check your PM for some holiday awfulness :D

Thank you very much for the surprise dose of awesomeness there! I'll think of you fondly as I use your gift to hurt myself repeatedly.
If I was more interested in Ultima as a whole, I'd probably have picked up 9 by now. By all appearances, that was one pretty massive wreck of a game. Need to dig around and see what would be considered the all-time worst of the worst - the absolute most godsawful disasters/betrayals/disappointments in the medium.
Great, got Aarklash in the random sale thing...good that it's a) not in the recommended bundle at all - for exactly the same discount even - and b) something I don't really want as well...

Kinda hilarious :P

Edit - Forgot one. Also wanting to get ahold of Master of Orion 3.
Having played Deus Ex Invisible War first (and on XBOX no less), it's still a good game - it's just not as in-depth or as memorable as the first game was. It's a little more linear and there are more load screens and the like to accommodate consoles of the time, but otherwise it's still a good game.

That's the thing right there. Over time, stories get passed around regarding certain titles until it's like (to paraphrase Clerks) the game raped their mother while pouring sugar in their gas tank. It leaves you with the impression that these are truly some of the most awful things ever created. But until you actually sit down and play them, you can't fully know whether it's true or not.

Hey, Gothic 3 is not half as bad with community patch applied. Not so good as 1&2, but pretty decent. And brilliant if compared to Forsaken Gods and Arcania.
In general, that's the risk every sequel to a great game is sublject to: inability to live up to expectations. Disciples 3: Reincarnation would be a good game if it didn't have the "Disciples 3" part. The same goes for DX2, Darkness 2 and some others.
Wow, looks like GOG does listen to it's customer base. Seems like they added a reroll button on the gift boxes for all those whiners who were unsatisfied with their initial luck o' the draw.

Oh GOG, you sure spoil your fan base.

I was so tempted to use it but had gotten Anachronox at 75% off, and just took that instead. I'll try it tomorrow then.

Well, it is not only about spoiling. Better rolls for people means more sales too.:)

I see no option to reroll? is this only if you already own the game? I'm looking at Witcher 2: AoK, but I have a choice of buy at $4.99 or come back tomorrow

Ahem. I seem to not get something. I see no option to reroll (I got Anachronox as well, do not own it).
Maybe it's still being tested or something.
You will see the reroll option tomorrow. If you missed it already once you rolled once and logged out of the page, it disappears. Look for it tomorrow.
