Where do you get off calling these guys gay!?

I grew up in the 70's and I can say that Disco is what created the riff between my parents music and the music I enjoyed. My parents enjoyed other music, but whenever DIsco came on the volume got turned up. Remember this is the days before ipods and even walkmans. You had to suffer listening to the music your parents liked on long vacation drives. I could listen to the oldies, but disco was horrible.

The 70's brought on the birth and proliferation of metal and prog, with some really great bands in this genre during the decade (in fact it's probably the only great decade for prog rock whatsoever), krautrock, space rock, as well as darker psych rock, so that's cool. And MELLOTRONS! :D

I have to admit that is a good song.

I do not see why it has to be one or the other - I am going with both. I spent plenty of time Dancing at the Disco in the 70's and I absolutely love 70's Rock - Expand your Musical Boundaries folks.

I liked The Village People a lot when I was a young kid, but I didn't know they were gay, I likely didn't even know what gay love was back then (I was only a child of the 70s).

In answer to the OP question: I like 70's rock for more, but being 42(*), I'm more into 80's music.

I think only one of them was actually gay, (if you can guess which one I'll give you a prize, and but give you a prize I mean I won't give you anything!). They still rock... err disco.... hmm, they were still a rather delightful musical ensemble.

I've never really had a problem with disco, being a rocker. My main beef has been with American country music that sounds just like classic rock except the singer's voice has a twang to it.

I remember when I lived with my biological father, he told me he started listening to country for that very reason.

Bieber is a rather horrible person though, although most people who hate Bieber now already hated him before he started to act that way (at least before the newspapers picked up on the bad things he did).

'70 rock all the way!!! Seriously, just search for '70 bands and listen them and you'll be delighted.
