That's a very limiting view on games. Good gameplay can be a lot of fun even without any story. Well, to each his own, I suppose. It makes sense that you dislike flash games, though, since those tend to be very gameplay-focussed, simple games. On the other hand, Machinarium is a flash game, and that is very much interactive fiction =P

Pretty good list if you like platformers and wierdness. I did manage to find one diamond in the rough however: Warfare 1944 is a damn good RTS for a freebee IMO.
Oh, and from the PC Gamer list: Battleships Forever. This game FRAKIN ROCKS (even though it supposedly isn't even complete yet)! :)
