A few days a go (7/1) I created a GoG account to buy The Witcher ($9.99). Everything (except for the downloader lol) when smoothly and I have been playing the game.

Today I check my card balance and I have two $9.99 charges from GoG:
7/1 for $9.99 --> Which would be The Witcher
7/5 for $9.99 --> Which I have NO idea what it is

I am the only person with access to this account and haven't even been on the website since I bought The Witcher.

Two Questions:
1) Has this happened to anyone else? (did I miss some "activation fee")
2) I can't find (and remove) my credit card information. Where is it stored?

Thanks all
They don't store credit card info. What's on your shelf?
The Witcher, Enhanced Edition

4 Games that were there immediately after account creation:

Steel Sky
Temptress
Tyrian
Teen Agent

And at least that is sort of reassuring they don't store information.
What does it say on your statement exactly regarding those 2 charges?

If you have not already done so . . . you should contact GOG support about this ASAP . . . =)
There's no activation fee or anything & all the other games you stated are free ones.

That sounds about right. I'd suggest contacting the support system. They may have had some transaction error that ran through the one transaction twice.

For the 7/1 (Witcher) purchase:
"CK CRD SIGNATURE PURCH06/30/11
GOG LTD WWW.GOG.COM 0077"

For the 7/5 (???) purchase:
"CK CRD SIGNATURE PURCH
GOG LTD"

Very similar to the first one but just no purchase date or website link.

hmmmmmm

Looks to me as some kind of error while processing transaction (no transaction details).
I don't know if gog staff is first place to go. I would contact your card operator if I were you.

Well, the card servicer will immediately ask you whether you have contacted the merchant. So do both. I would contact GOG first; if they do not respond within 24 hours, also contact the card servicer.
You should go directly to your CC company, because they have charged you twice for the same game. Of course, it's nothing wrong if you contact GoG support, too

The OP is in the US, where the Fair Credit Billing Act applies. In order to get your credit card company to act on a protest, you must make a "good faith attempt to obtain satisfactory resolution of a disagreement or problem relative to the transaction" with the merchant.

That's why I wrote, the first thing the credit card servicer will ask you is whether you have contacted the merchant. If you haven't, they will just tell you to contact the merchant.

So start with GOG. They're not bad guys, but even good guys make mistakes, and it's a whole lot easier on everybody if you settle it with them instead of getting the credit card company involved through a protest and chargeback.

Only if you get no satisfaction from GOG should you escalate it to the CC servicer. Be sure to do so within 60 days, if you go that route.

Thank you very much everyone, I emailed GoG a little bit earlier and I'm sure it was just a mistake on someones end.

A lot of good information in this thread too :)

It was, don't worry. As others have said, GOG are good guys. They're not perfect (nobody is), but they strive to be, and they really do care about their customers, and not just for their own financial gain either. This issue sounds like a software bug rather than a human error anyway. I'm sure GOG support will sort it out for you.
