I can´t believe this is the most popular video from 2013. Have the world gone mad?

Edit:" About that What does the the fox say song"

I truly fucking HATE that video... and I only saw it once. It's a good example of how stupid people have become in my opinion.
I had not actually watched it before. Typical Ylvis.

It's more interesting if you can keep a crowd around long enough to see the absurd parts.
Here's the definitive version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEFwkS9j2Zw
Seriously?
My god, that song (and video) is godawful.
I thought it is song for retarded pre-school kids.

Ylvis makes parodies...
People often double check the shit twice, just to make sure if it truly was that shitty. And when it is, they share it on social media "hey, check out how shitty this is!" Voila, 150 000 views. Then it gets a spot on talk shows, because of the view number rapidly increasing. And soon enough the views are in the millions.

The example is especially valid in the case of "Bound 2". No way people are watching that video because they like the music. That is impossible. In fact, it should be the definition of the word in the dictionary. "Impossible: watching Bound 2 because of the music". Na-ah. They watch it because they can't believe their ears the first time. The idea of that... actually giving you access to millions of dollars.

Or, could be that people are tone deaf and/or stupid. Could be either way. Everyone says, that with music, people have different tastes and that should be appreciated. I can respect that to a degree, but not if you like Bound 2. If you really like that song, you are indeed tone deaf and/or stupid.

Oh, I had no idea.
Is it supposed to be parody of something particular?
We're sorry.

not really, just about the genre in general. I think that it was partly the blandness that made this go viral. I think they are much better when they do their work in Norwegian, it do not translate so easily.

They are quite funny.... usually....
Ylvis is hilarious. Granted, the fox song is near the bottom of their work, but without that song going viral, I may have never discovered their general greatness.

TheSupremeForce: Ylvis is hilarious.
Pardon my doubt...
Funny, when I first heard it a while ago I felt the urge to post on the forums that it's the friggin' best that has happened in the music industry in ages. :P I think it's brilliant (and no, normally I'm totally not into that kind of music - by which I mean all that disco crap, not its parodies like the ones created by The Lonely Island). I can understand people getting sick and tired of it (I also didn't enjoy it much when it played in a loop a dozen times at a party recently) but I still think that the song itself is brilliant. It's actually pretty sophisticated commentary on pop music and I admire the originality of the (obviously intentionally absurd) content as well as the execution.

Same here. Well, not completely. I still think that the Fox is among their best stuff but indeed, without it going viral I would have missed Stonehenge and that romantic dubstep thing both of which are even better than What Does The Fox Say.

Not seen video but song itself burned my ears
I will admit if I liked that kind of music I would probably have found it funny though
