kind of fun here, count me in.

One of the games here at GOG that I prefer mod is HoMM5.

It kind of pain me to either

1) Enjoy the original story without the caravan and alternative upgrade
2) Enjoy caravan and alternative upgrade functions but cannot start the story from beginning.

but not both. I feel this kind of setting I don't like in many games with multi-expansions concept.

So MOD really solve the pain here - all campaign story MOD + another much improved AI MOD
really bring HOMM5 to another level.

Now, one last MOD please - cartoonish look overhaul that compatible :)

Best mods: JA2 1.13.
Please count me in. Thank you! +1. My favorite kinds of mods are the onee that add new single-player content, as opposed to the mods that offer new multi-player modes.
Well, on the mods front, what if you had eagerly awaited a mod for MANY years for your (probably) favourite game of all time (or certainly within it genre - i feel torn saying things like this), and as it developes it becomes an OFFICIAL, STANDALONE release, only to be chuffed over by leaks?

Well, like that fact or not, LOST ALPHA is out, it is the best exploration of the zone I have known (and believe me I have played many of the content expansion mods for Shadow of Chernobyl), its fre, and DRM free (bonus), sadly, due tot he leaks its not an official release, but did involve GSC in some aspects of the development.

It shouldnt be played unless you have at least played the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game in the series several times, and even then, probably not until you have found the highest difficulty easy as hell.

Its still 100% DRM free as I know, and definately 100% standalone.

In, thanks as always for this and the last AFGA!

Back in the day when I used to play World of Tanks (damn, I still miss the game, when it wasn't pay2win), I had several mods, mainly for cosmetic reasons. UI, targeting, tank models, sound, all that. It looked and played great, but it was pretty time-consuming to update and test them for compatibility every time they updated the client. But it was worth it, I liked the feeling to play a game which I configured to my liking.

The last game I used mods on was Morrowind, downloaded and installed dozens of them, only to find out that the game itself wasn't for me.... happens. This experience makes me wonder what I will do about some of the games I bought here on GOG where there are mods en masse available, like System Shock 2 or Vampire: Redemption. To mod or not to mod, that is the question! Better graphics, balance and more content vs. all the hassle finding and installing mods...
Firstly, imagine tinyE dressed as an oompa loompa from the film of charlie and the chocolate factory with Gene Wilder.
Got it?
Good!

Now apply this to the mix!

I can honestly not at present remember which mods I've played with. I used to play a lot of TCs for Duke Nukem 3D, which is probably my highlights for yesteryear. Recently it's mostly been graphical mods and game fixes.
I'm in. Thanks.
Please count me in. Thanks members of the Sigil
Thank you, The Sigil and Sachys! +1

Please count me in.
I'm in, thank you!

As for mods - mods made NWN enjoyable (and to be more specific - modules and persistent worlds since the OC was a stinking pile) and I could finish Fallout 3 without pulling too much of my hair out, so yeah, mods are great, especially for Bethe$da games.
I'm in, thank you
I'm in, thanks for the ga!!!

I have really enjoyed many of the mods for star wars: empire at war. They make the game much more enjoyable.
I'm in, thank you.

I don't have anything against mods but I usually prefer to play a game in its original form and this means that I rarely play any of them.
That said, I have played one or two mods in the past and I have to say that even though there can be great mods out there most of them are pretty average and this is because anyone can make them.
If we are using the term mod not only to describe custom maps or additional stuff in a game but also as a way to describe any kind of modification then I can say that I really appreciate mods that fix and restore games that were plagued by rushed releases and greedy publishers.
All in all, mods can be a good thing if done right, they can extend the longevity and replay value of a game and offer anyone the possibility to approach the awesome world of game development.
