I rarely use mods these days. I mostly prefer to play my games only with the official content. I don't use fan-created content very much as such content usually has an inconsistent feel or art style with the rest of the game. I sometimes play fan-created levels, though usually only the most highly-rated ones, or the ones acknowledged by the creators. I do, however, have nothing against using fan-made patches for certain games, when necessary.
