Downloaded the setup for panzer general 3d. Ran setup and my antivirus is stopping it telling me that the reason, or the threats are these two names,HEU_CDPLC024 and TROJ_SPNR.03CG13. Is there really something wrong or is the antivirus thinking the game is something else. I'm not very good with computers I just want to play a game from when I was younger. Sorry if it's an elementary question but I couldn't find anything like this in the archived discussions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What AV software do you use ?
You could check the individual files on antivirus sites like http://www.virustotal.com. But more than likely the warnings you are receiving are false positives. Have you tried temporarily disabling your AV software?

False positives are nothing new and I suspect this is what you're seeing. See what the documentation of the AV product tells you to do in these cases. Usually there is some way to tell the AV to ignore the installer and also to report the false positive to the ones that created the AV.

What AV is it anyway? Is it up to date?

Trend.
You should exclude it from scanning or try disabling it temporary.

Ok. I was just a little nervous because if something goes wrong I can't fix it. I just wanted to see if there was the possibility of downloading something with the setup that could kill my computer before I told it to ignore and proceed. I can hear all of you laughing from here.

oh yeah, by the way silviucc. It tells me to restart to resolve the problems that it found. Some of them it says it already fixed. whatever that means.

No worries, we can't all know about everything, you probably know alot about stuff we might not.
It's very most likely just a false positive, maybe in a crack that was used.
I am using eset myself so i can't guide you to where the settings are.

Though if i may suggest an antivirus program usually just focus on virus, malware/spyware/trojans is usually a different case and its advisable to get a program too specifically designed for that like https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Don't hesitate to ask about anything here, there are plenty of helpful people here.

It probably put it in quarantine and then it needs a reboot. If it is indeed a file that the game need it might not run the game or crash eventually.

Ok, I went and ran the setup again and when it came up with the problem I clicked ignore. It said it removed something but continued to install. Everything finished so I tried the game, it came up, I clicked around a few things and it worked, computer still seems ok so I guess everything is good with the world. Thank you to everyone for talking me down off of the ledge. I really appreciate all of your quick responses.

I'm using the same on my work PC, and I've learned it is far too eager to mark lots of things as positives (which e.g. MS Security Essentials or Avast say are fine). I guess my employer prefer it to be too eager, than miss some malware.
