Picked up a freebie (on promo) Android game called Game Dev Story from amazon.... which i found quite addictive and apparently the company Kairo churns out other quite addictive games on Android. I know Game Dev Tycoon is very similar to Game Dev Story, but its Steam only (?). Are there similar types of games available on GOG? (not sure i seen any...)

Depends on what you're looking for. I don't think there are any game studio managers on GOG, but there are a couple of good tycoon/management games.

Take a look at a game called Capitalism Plus that is right here on gog. It's similar in the sense you make a product, but in this case you have TONS of products that you can make. It's a game about running a corporation manufacturing consumer goods and selling them. It's a VERY deep and complex game. Besides just manufacturing goods you need to produce raw materials in order to make finished goods. Quality of raw materials plays a factor in the quality of the product as well as R&D you do to also increase the quality of the product, but if you like business simulation/economy type games you should love this once you learn it.

I originally picked it up back in the 90's when it came out and got it here again at gog.com even though I still own my original retail disc that still works, but I like supporting gog.com when I can:) I should also mention that this game is very addicting once you learn it.

So give it a try and see what you think. Don't worry if you feel overwhelmed at first. That's normal with this game for most people. Just stick with it and you should have lots of fun with it.

Oh and another game like this one that's also good in my opinion, but that isn't on gog (yet) is Industry Giant II: Gold Edition. One i'm hoping gets added eventually:)

As the others have stated there's nothing exactly like Game Dev Story but Theme Hospital may satisfy your needs. It's also a rather lighthearted manager game.
