It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Maybe if they had an Adroid/iOS app where I could just scan in massive amounts of barcodes and/or text.

Your data should be "yours" as well, which means the ability to export to XML or some such.

I'm guessing that's too much to ask, though...

Actually, I like that the site has free-form text entry. All its lacking is batch-entry/importing. Being freeform like that makes the site more for you/your friends, rather than for public e-dick comparison/showing off.

mouton: Frankly, I have no idea why this site is recommended by anyone. As it stands, it has very limited use and adding/editing games is a chore. Not to mention the fact that such a service should have its own database. Goodreads, despite its flaws, is an example how to do it better.
A database, while a good idea, would be a problem because people may have to wait for a particular game to be approved before adding it to their collection / site / whatever. Eh.
82 games unfinished. I actually didn't think it was that bad. And I just thought of a few more I need to add. And that is not including the games I've had my eye on here that I haven't bought yet.

Antimateria: Well I do have a bit scattered some games.. usually I don't remember so much what I had in gamersgate. So it makes some sense.
And you are a bit like some answer machine, not always right but you make an effort. =P

AFnord: I'm checking forums between Grimrock deaths right now, so sorry about the general confusion.
(Grimrock is by the way an utterly amazing game, but I find myself having to take short breaks from it, due to its general intensity)
I know it's awesome.. at least a good game, I bought it. Kinda makes me want to walk and turn that way. =)
..and there is no confusion, not anymore. Well those eternal questions of course.

One flaw with Goodreads is that it is a chore to add books that are not in the database. I found myself having to put in more than a dozen book in its database in order to get my book collection in there. Another problem is when people add books to the database that are already in the database, so you have multiple entries for the same book, which makes finding the correct edition a hassle.
I do like Goodreads though, it is an excellent way to keep track of books that I intend to read at some point (which is an ever growing list :( )

I'm not sure what you expect, but it works well as far as I'm concerned. I found it really easy to add games. It took about a half hour to add my first 82 games, the hardest part was going through my collection of CDs and various download sites to find which games I hadn't finished yet. It's quick and elegant in its simplicity for doing exactly what it's supposed to do: keep track of the backlog of games you haven't finished yet and give you an achievement-like incentive to finish them. If you wanted a database of all your games with a plethora of metadata then this is not the site you're looking for.

Still beats having to add dozens of your games manually.

I still had to type in what books I owned in Goodreads anyway, so the amount of time & effort it takes for me to add a game to my Goodreads and my Backloggery lists is about the same (or in fact slightly lower for Backloggery, in case I want the right edition and language for my books).
