cw8: If it's fake, they'd sure put in alot of effort on the Kickstarter video/game demo.
chevkoch: I'm late to the party and didn't even know there's a playable demo. So I wasn't going by facts, really ;) The whole idea of a goat sim just sounds outrageously prankish. Reminds me of Kaurismäki's
Zombie and the Ghost Train, of a band everyone is aware of, but noone has ever seen them play.
The thing is, they didn't plan to make it into an actual game. They needed to test their new physics engine, and they made a small pseudo-game featuring a goat in order to do so (and to have a good laugh, developers need to have fun too). They posted a YouTube video of the end result, explicitly stating that this was not a game in development, just a test of their engine, and the internet went berserk and flat-out
demanded that they make it into an actual game. Seeing the enormous response the video got, they decided to go ahead and do it.
That was the sequence of events, to the best of my knowledge. If I'm wrong about some of it, someone feel free to correct me.
