chautemoc: VERY Mirror's Edge-y -- there's even the plane part.

DarthKaal: Indeed, very Mirror's Edge-y, but also very Assassin's Creed-y or Prince of Persia-y. Too bad it doesn't seem very Beyond Good and Evil-y.

I concur. :)
I loved the teaser, though!
Well, as someone who's still a neophyte to the franchise (Logged like 3 hours so far on the original game) the character in that trailer does -look- like Jade. But I'm assuming the gripes are that the original game is more of an action/adventure game with the focus on the ADVENTURE part? (i.e. the puzzle solving and such?) Where things like combat and platforming elements are part of the game, but a secondary part to the exploration and roleplaying elements?
Umm ... I imagine with the amount of money being squandered on Assassins Creed 2 there might be some financial issue with going after "Beyond Good and Evil" at this time.

AlphaMonkey: Well, everything I've read (including the forum posts here) says that the game sold... exceptionally poorly.

Well that wouldn't have happened had Ubisoft released the game during a drought (like Spring), instead of during the Holiday season. Kinda seems like they wanted it to fail now that I think about it.
But yeah, as far as I'm concerned Ubisoft's rep depends ENTIRELY on BG&E2. If it's released and is good, then that's great. If it's screwed up with or isn't released at all however, then they're worse than Big Rigs. No, they'll be worse than EA was at THEIR worst. No exaggeration.

Lots of publishers sell during the holidays for a reason. :P

Well, they did say that the sequel would be targeted much more at casual gamers than the first one... whatever that means.
