I just got gog.com and installed the downloader. However, whenever I try to start installing a game from the website, (after turning on GOG.com Downloader Mode) nothing happens. I have made an exeption in windows firewall to no avail. Please help!

Try using a different browser. Chrome is known to have problems with the downloader in Windows 8, though Iron works fine, as do Firefox and IE. Chrome should be working in Win7, but the latest version of it does appear to have created more bugs.
