DrIstvaan: Why? Can't you edit the shot with the text?

Waltorious: Some GOG users might not have sufficient image-editing software, even if they can think of some funny captions. But requiring it to be submitted as a picture keeps the captions from getting too long I guess.

As JamesGecko said, get Paint.Net. It is a great free image editing software. Think of it as a stripped down version of Photoshop, but free.
I used that one and was done in few seconds.
Get it from www.getpaint.net
I just sent my entry in. This is my first time participating in a caption contest so I probably won't win, but I hope I do, and best of luck to everyone else.
That's a great idea. I hope I'll win but good luck for everybody ;) I've sent an e-mail already and now I'm waiting for Thursday :) You should do this sort of contest regularly.
Thank you all for the advice about MS Paint. It has improved a lot since I last used it, which was back when it would only save things in .BMP format. I have three sent off. I'm not sure I can think of anything for Obscure that isn't pedestrian.

Heh, this image is a bit obscene so there will be probably only vulgar jokes ;P Maybe that's what GoG team wanted to ^_^
If you're on a computer where you can't download any programs (at work or such), there's an incredible browser-based photoshop-like program at www.aviary.com (it also features a lot of other cool in-browser creation tools). You should easily be able to add captions to the pictures there, no download required (assuming you have flash)

My caption for Duke3D ended up being a bit vulgar, but I actually made one for the Tex Murphy shot that wasn't. My worry with the Tex one is that one might need to be an American of a certain age to even realize it is a joke.
Are we required to send all 4 images at once? Or can we send one at a time?

That's a problem with international contests :) I had better ideas than that which I sent but comprehensible only for Pole ;P

I see no indication that one has to send them in all at the same time; in fact, I don't think one has to add a caption to all of them. It only serves to increase your chances of winning, but even then, it can be four different times (or at least so I think).

yeah.
like the last pic can say
Now it is time to Polish my Pole!
So, do captions that are somewhat related to the general mood of the depicted games/characters stand a better chance or it doesn't matter?
Also, are we limited to one entry per pic ? Can we send more that one caption for the same pic ?

I don't think it makes a difference.

Now, THAT's something I'd also like to know.

Yeah, i was kind of wondering about the first one cause to tell you the truth i've never done one of these before.
I've got two captions in mind for one of the pics. Guess its' best not to send anything before Cook or one of the guys clear this one up for us.
Thanks :)
