The fun little puzzle game 'Cogs' is a meager 5 buckaroos on Direct2Drive.com
I really like these sliding puzzles and thought it was a bargain at this price.
Enjoy it may give you a distraction until Lords of Magic arrives!

D2D is fine, its just simple website with a simple download manager and the publishers put the DRM they want on it.
D2D is fairly good service in my humble opinion.
GOG is the best, but D2D has gotten better.
Could you please tell me why they are not preferable to you?

D2D is great... as long as you don't ever need to re-download a game more than a year after you bought it. I bought one game from them via their partnership with my ISP, and both my ISP and D2D claim that the other one is responsible for the game I purchased. After I did an OS rebuild, I needed to re-download that one game (never mind that I was an idiot for not making a backup) and neither one of them would help me. After several heated e-mails D2D decided to offer me a token $5 credit towards my next purchase, but I still don't have the game that I already spent $20 on.

Pardon me for saying this, but what the fuck? D2D had a partnership with your ISP?!?
What kind of promotion was that, was it with Comcast?
At any rate I bought Oblivion from D2D at launch date, I download it almost every year, no problem and sure I ran out of activations, but it only took 1 email to remove the activation limit permanently.

Hmmm...$5, and it's DRM-free too...tempting... :?

Sigh...I suppose I'll settle with that response.
Which Digital Distribution sites do you prefer?

Yep, it was Comcast. They had a gaming portal for a while called "Game Invasion" that was just a Comcast-branded font end for Direct2Drive. When that partnership ended, neither one of them would take responsibility for anything anyone had bought through the portal, screwing over all of Comcast's customers (who actually did the screwing is a matter of debate). They supposedly offered a way to transfer a Game Invasion account into a regular D2D account, but it doesn't actually work and, just like with the game download, each one blames the other for that.

Cool, thanks for the history

GOG, obviously, Impulse - I'll settle for steam.

I am as well, but because of my fierce loyalty, I can't really bring myself to follow through. I usually get frustrated with pure puzzle games anyway, I'd rather they were integrated into an adventure game.
cogs?
