So yesterday I went to my friend's home to see Daylight. He know I like horror titles like Outlast, Silent Hill etc, so we played the game together...but the game is simply garbage.
Let's begin.
Gameplay side, this is a Slenderman game. Simple. You must find six pages in each location, then you'll find a key to open a door. That's all. I checked three locations (asylum, prison and sewer, then I went away), but all are pretty simple. There are enemies too, but if you own a flare, you can kill them.
If you like Slender games, this can be your cup of tea, even if there's anything new here.
The problem is the tech side. It's pure garbage. The pc of my friend can run Witcher 2 on Ultra without problems, but he can't run this game properly. There are so much framerate drop to single digits, stuttering, freezing...it's almost unplayable. It requires DX11 to run, but the graphic is very poor, so I don't know why DX11 are required (and Unreal Engine 4 too).
Then I checked on Neogaf, and it seems that the PS4 is very bugged too, with the same problems of PC version.
And finally, about the writing...nothing special. Really. This was promoted because it was written by Jessica Chobot (yes, the NPC you can encounter in Mass Effect 3), but there is nothing that a LOT of games did better then this Even a lot of documents seem ripped from other titles.
So, it's not an added value.
Finally, this is so overpriced. It's 14€, but you can complete it in less then two hours. And only if you get lost during random generated levels. My friend told me he beat the game in one hour and thirty, without rushing and by reading all the files he found. After I went away, there was two other locations before the end. Avoid this if you can, or at least try a demo (if there is one).
