Sachys: Some would accuse you of "fence sitting" - I wont. In fact, in this case, I belive your standpoint has value in all directions.
I guess if life were as simple as a single fence between two yards, I would happily take the accusation, but as it is, life is much more complex and there is always more then two parties involved.
Think about this, you throw a $2 (It's an Australian coin xD) coin in the river, right now the only two parties involved are you and the river, however, as the $2 coin is moved down the river, it washes up on shore, and gets caught on the foot of an animal, which carries it up the river banks, later, a bird takes it up to it's nest, eventually, the nest is gone, the $2 coin slides off the tree and hits the ground, lying still for hundreds-thousands of years as it degrades.
Basically, that may sound like unrelated ramble, but what I'm saying is, It's always best to aim for the best desirable eventual outcome for all parties involved.
Think of such a decision as medicating a wound, you can put a band-aid over a scrape, but you also have to prevent the long term problem of infection.
