My game budget for today forces me to choose between Shelter and Unepic. If you are a fan of one or the other, tell me why I need to pick it, and once I decide, random.org will choose a person from this thread to get his or her choice of one of the gog gift codes I've been slowly collecting for a larger giveaway. I am looking to decide as quickly as possible so waste no time to respond please and be short and sweet with your recommendation.
Possible prizes include NWN, Planescape Torment, Desperados 1&2, Ghost Master, Startopia, Fallouts, Trines...

Unepic. I still haven't played Shelter, but Unepic is pretty good. If you like a somewhat "metroidvania" with loads of items to collect, enemies, spells and cheesy humor...
And it is still getting updates.

Unepic, it seems more fun, and alot longer play time (15-20 hours vs a few).

As much as I'd like to help you, I didn't play either game so could not judge them justly.
But my vote would go to Shelter, because its pretty much different from many other games, and different usually (not always) means good.

If I'm eligible for prizes Planescape Torment, Desperados 2 or Startopia would be lovely.

If you're into castlevania, rogue-like games or RPG's, go with Un-epic, it scratches that itch without a problem.
If you like story, detail, games like "The Cat Lady" or point and clicks, go with Shelter.

On the surface, yeah it's just another metroidvainia, but if you were a child of grunge like myself it will pull at heart strings, make you laugh, make you cry, and at times make you groan. :D

I'll opt in for Desperados if no one else is dying for it.

I entered 2-6 in the sequence generator and 2 came out first, meaning Stooner gets the Desperados code, which has both one and 2.
For those curious, I am going with Shelter for today just because it seems so unique but Unepic is still on my radar for the very near future.
