Finally was able to install it a few hours before the Tv series aired. Haven't activated all the bonus content from the deluxe edition yet but I like the game. No Arkfalls encountered yet but the ECM are pretty persiistent. Even during my EGO trainining those mutants were attacking. Would be nice to have a cave or something my character can rest in. Oh well.

The shield is awesome, very handy when being flanked by a dozen or so mutants.
Love the rocket propelled quad bike.

A MMO is a MMO, and sadly they have very few success stories. I watched the first episode of the TV series which is sort of OK so far if a little cliche. I hope it grows into something good/great before it gets cancelled.

I am enjoying the game. It was very much worth 47.00 (Gaming Dragons) for the Deluxe.

The Tv show is pretty good. I missed the end battle since we went walking through the Cancer ward last night. Downloading from torrnt today to catch the ending I missed. SyFy's commited to 2 seasons of Defiance and Trion plan to continue the game even if SyFy cancels the TV series. Still nice to see the crossovers at points in the game.

I would love to know how this game is progressing as it's on the Steam Sale at €10.19.

Is it worth getting or just wait for a shop to bang it our for 4.99 later on?

It's fun for most people it seems. I had some fun with the time I played, but there is something missing with it. There's no hook and it ended up being a drag for me to play

Thats good enough for me, MMO's need a hook as you describe it, anyway I have enough on me plate with Rift to get sidetracked I guess :)

Got a free key from another forum and decided to put some time into it. 4 hours later come to conclusion - it was OK but i got bored very fast
Graphics were ok = nothing special but serviceable
Audio - not enough impact on weapon noises. music was ok. The thing that travels with you sounds very familiar -in terms of the voice acting... someone who did one of the ME charachters? could be wrong).
Gameplay - run around shoot, kill , loot. Almost no interactivity with others on the server except for the arkfall type events where lots of people gather and shoot x mobs. That was probably the most fun part. Rest of time just ride around on your own buggy and stop at instances like time trials or other quests - generally kill x, rescue x, ...generic stuff.
Story is pretty generic and obviously hooks a little into the tv series (two of the main chars from show make an appearance), missions straight forward - i to sidetracked while exploring (travelling around is fast....but open spaces are pretty... dull aside from the dotted side missions on your map).
Loot is basically weapons (is there any armor in the game???). You can buy stuff from vendors, unlock perks etc.
But honestly?. I got bored by the fourth hour. The game gets pretty boring aside from the arkfalls. Nothing addictive about it and nothing to hook me in to pay for anything more. 6 out of 10
