Okay, sorry for making a thread about this, but I've been on the verge of getting that bundle, but I need your.... well, opinions. I splashed too much cash on these sales already, so I can't really impulse-buy anything at the moment (well I could, but my wife would object, and when she objects, all hell breaks loose)

So... is the bundle worth it?
I have been eyeing on this trilogy for awhile aswell and it looks like a classic style point and click adventure modernized.

Depends if you like those sort of games.
They're more "traditional" adventure games than the newer and (in my personal opinion) better indie stuff. Not traditional in the sense of the classic LucasArts games or Sierra stuff from back in the day, but the commercial stuff that came after that.

I personally didn't care for it. I guess german humour isn't my thing, I didn't find it very funny, and the interface seemed weirdly restrictive to me.
I loved them. They were very funny.
I played a good deal of the first one but never finished it because finishing games, even ones I love isn't really my style. Only really happens when they're so short that i finish them on accident.

I didn't find it funny at all but the gameplay and puzzle design was really tight, on par with the best by lucasarts and far better than any of the other indie adventure games I've played from here. if you're into the actual gameplay of adventure games rather than just the plot/humor id say definitely pick them up, if you're the kind of guy that plays lucasarts games with a walkthrough to see the story/jokes then steer clear. Neither of those is the "right" way to play adventure games and unfortunately I haven't seen any games in a long time, probably since grim fandango that do both well (and I've seen a hell of a lot that do neither well.)

Having played the 3rd entry recently, I would say that it was very unsatisfying to me. It was just too abrupt for me, and it felt like that the developers just gave up on the game. Also, some of the puzzle mini-games were a bit slow and tedious to work through. I am thinking of the washing machine and door chase scenes in particular. In addition to that, the series is a bit mean-spirited, especially with the protagonist as an unrelenting jerk.

Rating the series as a whole against the gold standard (25th Anniversary & Judgment Rites), I give Deponia a 45 out of 100. Add +10 if you like Monkey Island's antics, -5 if you don't enjoy weird logic with some puzzles. An average series at best.

Average at best? I thought the series was well-received :D
As far as i'm concerned Daedalic has only written pure gold so far, there isn't a single onf of their in-house games i've been disappointed with so far. Then again, I only play them in german and the translation must be really awful because else i can't understand how anyone could dislike the deponia games.

Also i wouldn't buy the bundle in this sale since they seem to be interested in remastering all 3 games into a single release with some bonus features.

I didnt like the first one at all really.

It wasn't as funny as I expected, I found the whole thing to be more long the lines of Monkey Island (which I cant stand), than other P&C games.

But then, so far, I haven't liked many Daedalic games.
