Hey all...didn't want to hijack the other Mass Effect thread currently on the forum by carnival73 (thought about it though, lol). So anyway, I got the ME trilogy on XBOX for Xmas, and plan on playing them concurrently from the beginning. As these come with basically little or no DLC for the most part as I understand it, I'd like to pick your brains for which DLC is really worth getting, and which really might be a waste of time and money. Appreciate any feedback :)

The original game's free DLC was good, forget the name of it. A nice little mission. The paid DLC was an arena thing that sucked, avoid it.

ME2 had a lot of free DLC you should get. Of the paid stuff Lair of the Shadowbroker is the obvious must-have. Project Overlord was probably second best, pretty good but not essential by any means. The Kasumi one and Arrival were pretty meh, you can avoid those.

You should get From Ashes for ME3 with that pack, which is good. I have heard Leviathan is good and Omega is bad, but I have not played them yet myself.

P.S. (Essential PC gamer superiority) - The original game is pretty horrible on Xbox, if you have anywhere near a gaming PC might want to at least play that one on PC.

Thanks...didn't realize the 1rst one played so badly on XBox..bummer., My gaming pc is getting a little long in the tooth, which is why I went with the XBox trilogy. The first is old enough, my rig might run it okay, but wouldn't be able to carry the game (save/character) over to the second one then. If it's that crappy on XBox, might give the 1rst one a go on the pc anyway...thanks for the heads up :D
I don't think it's that bad... definitely not bad enough to make it worth not being able to import your character to the second one.

Thanks...will definitely be giving the XBox a try first, as that's what's in my hands atm. I've been hearing, reading, and viewing Youtubes about these games seems like forever. As a big space and sci-fi buff, really looking forward to finally giving them a go. Just gotta finish my first play-through of XCOM: EU first ;)

It just has a super low framerate and lots of texture issues. I guess if you want to carry your save over it makes sense though... whatever works best for you, was just letting you know.

Yep, and much apprreciated....I haven't console gamed much in the last few years, because as a general rule, pc gaming is generally far superior (at least IMO)...'specially the graphics. Just recently got the Xbox, and the trilogy happens to be one of the games Santa brought :)
ME3 the extended cut should leave you a little less butthurt in the end. And the one which unlocks a very important character in the ME universe, not sure how it's called and don't wanna say what kind of character because of spoilurs.

Also, as Velvet said, Lair of the Shadowbreaker is probably the best DLC you can get.
