JetGumRadio: I want this to be a ruse and then a week later they have a Fallout blowout and then re-add the original three games along with DRM free versions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
More chance of Bethesda going bankrupt overnight, Sir-Tech being reformed and announcing Wizardry 9 and Origin being reformed and announcing Ultima X than that happening.

grape1829: I have them, but put them in anyway.

"This giftcode was part of our 48 hour giveaway of Fallout. Unfortunately, the code is no longer operational as the giveaway has ended. Don't worry, though, because we have hundreds of other great games on GOG.com, including 12 free ones!"
GOG could at least mark them as invalid in the account page then. I already wondered why nobody has redeemed them although I posted them in an open board. Well I was just trying to spread the word by advertising the DRM-free revolution with this giveaway. ;-)

I wonder if the games will not vanish from all shops next year. Did Interplay lose all the rights for the games as well or did they only lose the rights for the Fallout trademark as a franchise? If they lost the games, I hope they got a good compensation at least because it was their work to begin with (or better Black Isle Studio) and I see no reason why Bethesda should now be the owner of it simply because it has the Fallout trademark. Does Interplay have to hand out the source code and destroy every copy and build of the games on their computers?

Don't forget that the Refromed Origin is Overhauling Ultima 8 and 9.

For Ultima 8 they fixed everything from the interface, re-introduced jumping, but made it more easier, fixed all the plot holes by redesigning the story from the ground up, Combat is more like Diablo, More monster varietty now there are Dragons and such, but added new creatures not standard to the fantasy genre to make the world of Pagan all the more Alien sort of like Morrowind.

For Ultima 9 they considered Non-canon and a spin-off but they redesigned everything such as:

Much better voice acting
Better combat
Made the world of britannia much larger as exactly like in the past games, A seamless Open World Sandbox
Redesign the whole story from the ground up
Introduce the option to change the avatar's appearance (I don't like playing as a blonde man because I am not blonde)
FIXED ALL BUGs
Have the discs and it was probably the first set of games I bought here, hoping to start FOT next week.

Interplay vs Bethesda over the rights of Fallout is a long battle and I'm not rewinding it - read the net if you're interested. The short answer is: yes Bethesda owns EVERYTHING about Fallout and that because Interplay SOLD ALL to them.

Roman5: Fallout games will dissapear from the catalog in 5 days, what are you planning to do when the games dissapear from GOG?
I'll either have a massive spaz attack then shit in an envelope and send it to Bethesda or do nothing. Probably the latter.
Wait, what?
Eh I'll get back to playing Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.
Hardly notice and go on with my day? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what I'll do.

we can only dream...
So they are going to stay on Steam and Gamestop because Bethesda deals with those guys? I am sure that GOG is talking to Bethesda and may make a big announcement. Fallout games on here was the site's first big break! DRM free copies for the win and all that
The games are gone

You do know that there was actually a unusual massive patch for U8 which, while its to long to remember everything from it, re-introduced jumping, had a really massive list of bug fixes and changed/added too much to keep a save-game and required a restart?
