Yeah, about the characters. This is designed off the old old-school FF style, with cutesy character types that don't have a lot of personality. Kind of an acquired taste. I think they should have marketed it at $10 for a wider market appeal.

X-2... That game was... weird? Some strange mix of Sailor Moon and Singstar. I... finished it too... The concept of Dresspheres was quite funny, but the game became pointless after I got Cat Nip. This is an accessory with a funny effect: Every attack deals 9.999 damage if your HP is low. Combined with first strike and the Trigger Happy ability of the Gunner, it made every boss fight a joke. Most bosses died in the first round. Felt like cheating...

Dude the summons in the 2D Final Fantasies are not that long compared to 9's Ultimate summon where it last a whole minute.

Same goes for the encounters in 2D they go by at least faster than the 3D ones with slow (realistic) animations.
They did allow skipable cutscenes in Final Fantasy 12, my absolute favortie and one I think is grossly underrated.

Only to add unskippable cutscenes back in Crisis Core.

I liked it for the DS. It was fun although not overwhelmingly great. If someone were to ask would I recommend it, I would probably ask them if they had played Final Fantasy V since I think it is the better game. Bravely Default is another option although I would put FF III over The 4 Warriors of Light.

Not everyone has a handheld or iOS/Android though.

If I really enjoyed FFV and Bravely Default, I won't be that impressed with FFIII? Is the game not that great?

It is still a good game, the battle system just doesn't feel as complex as BD or FFV. I don't know, maybe complex is the wrong word.

Can't say about Bravely Default, but III has a more archaic class system than V. You can't gain abilities as you could on V, but instead you must remain that specific class if you want to use its abilities. Unlike V, III has no ATB, so it's completely turn-based going by each combatant's agility. The game is also pretty dialog-lite (the original NES incarnation had about as much dialog as the very first Final Fantasy), so don't expect too much in that department.

Yeah you have to keep in mind that the game tries sticking closer to nes design mechanics.

You can't multiclass, and classes are more about equipment loadouts and stats upon level up than skills. Well, some classes have a special command or special property to them. Some of the classes are redundant, mostly the mages which have 2 classes for each type which mainly differ in how their # casts per day is distributed (and the base mage classes are still viable in the endgame if you keep someone in them the whole time, they just have fewer high level casts per day than their advanced forms which have an upside down distribution).

It's a bit more about having a reasonably balanced party composition than power gaming each and every character. Job level isn't really that important outside of casts per day for mages. There's a cooldown penalty when you switch jobs, though you probably won't be switching jobs too much other than one or two when new ones are unlocked if you plan ahead. A few parts are easier with certain classes (mainly one boss that is easier with a scholar, and Garuda which is a cinch with an entire party of lancers/dragoons) but you can usually power through with a decent setup.

I know, I know. It was just a small wish\rant for the entire series, if they plan remakes or (good) PC ports.

This is a DS game. So...let's hope they will port Chrono Trigger for PC too. The last version was, in fact, for DS, and it is such a great game.

And they put it on iOS and Android aswell...

Does anyone know if the Final Fantasy 3 PC port will require a Square Enix account.
(Like 7 & 8 did?)
