Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows about this game and wondering if it were possible to find anything on the game and add it to your library. Its a space strategy game that was rather fun to play.
Fragile allegiance? Weeks of addiction. Asteroid-mania. I was never, ever so happy about nicely working planets in these kind of games (x3? I can't remember how are they called...) that about nicely working ASTEROID in Fragile. Slowly moving from micromanagment and manual placing of every buildings to latter parts of a game, when micromanagment was on shoulders of hired managers (pretty good AI they had) and I was controlling huge fleets and diplomacy over whole spac... Oh, I mean, asteroid belt :D
I will never forget my happiness, when my first asteroid with engines collided with enemy's main asteroid... When my first nuke was launched... When my first command cruiser was built...
I'm fed up with the game now, so even though I own original copy, I'm afraid I will never play it again... But it was a great game, nevertheless.
Fragile Allegiance was an excellent game and so addictive. I've got my cd still but have had issues getting it to run properly with XP so I hope they upload it to GOG. I always hoped for a sequel but I doubt that'd happen now. A character in this game inspired my username :)

A very good game but, as Makepeacefox has said already, last time I tried to play it in XP it had a few problems.
Compared to modern space "4X" games like Master Of Orion 2 or Galactic Civilizations, it feels a bit "shallow" as a strategy game, but strapping engines to asteroids and piloting them into the enemy ones was great fun! :-)
I certainly spent many months playing it and will probably Google it again in the near future to see if there's an easier way of running under XP.
Like everyone else posted, I spent weeks, months, micromanaging the asteroids. Great Strategy game, I truly hope to see it on the Catalog, sooner rather than later. But I can wait...
i have it on my windows 7 system, look up something called dosbox, get the file for fragile, and run the command line process. mount d d:\ -t cdrom
hit enter

mount c c:\fragile
hit enter

c:\
hit enter

c:\fragile\fragile
hit enter

alt+enter = fullscreen

theres a file in there that was missing from my install, but if you look for the file and put it in the folder, it works fine. good luck.

after you quit the game, just type exit and it will close
Yeah dosbox is the way to play the game. And there even are places where you can download iso game cd image. Mount it as cd in dosbox then go through istallation (also in dosbox) and you can play the game forever.
What's the learning curve like? Is it easy to figure out and play or does it take hours of manual reading?
