It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

JMich: Let's assume for a start a DNS error. Try this link, though be aware that she should get a security warning that the site tries to be identified as secure.square-enix.com. If this link loads, then she can communicate with the server, but the DNS cannot lookup the correct IP. If she can't visit through this link, we move to more troubleshooting.

Yes, she does.

Open a prompt (start->run->cmd) and run the following two commands

ping secure.square-enix.com
and

tracert secure.square-enix.com
Ping should show if she can get a reply from the server. If ping replies but the browser does not, it's a problem with the browser. If ping doesn't reply, tracert should attempt to show the route needed to reach secure.square-enix.com, and thus (hopefully) help identify where the problem lies. It would probably need someone in a similar location (or even better, with the same ISP) to compare the route with, but let's see first if ping replies.

Edit: Before attempting pings and traces, she did turn it off and on again, right? It is possible that some update is messing with the browser.

Just my 50 cents : If I understand well, http sites are accessible, but https not .

Might be due to the security settings of the browser

in IE11 : Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Settings > Security
check TLS 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and SSL 3.0
She fixed it. The site's security had a problem with her router...
There might be a problem with the sites security and her router. Might want to look into that angle.

Can't be. If that was the problem, she'd have probably found out about it an hour ago.
