Its very simple first deny the charges as complete lies. Then hire an expert forger to create very convincing evidence of what Betty Boom is accusing you of that blows her evidence out of the water. Make sure the evidence finds its way into her hands through sources she trusts. Then when she uses it have your experts "discover" that her evidence is a forgery completely made entirely to destroy your good name, discrediting her and destroying her career. After that all you have to do is to set her up on the road to alcoholism and the rest is history.

Choice 1: Publicly burn your computer and promise to never again play any games, but secretly install a new system in your rum cellar with the help of some US IT experts to cover it up (+10 respect, -3000$, -5 US Relations, 33% success)

Choice 2: Spend money on thousands of GOG giveaways and convince the population that GOG is nothing bad (-10000$ treasury, -20 respect from Intellectuals, +25 entertainment satisfaction for everyone else)

People of Tropico, as you may know now and I do not need to explain what I´m referring to, this being something I would rather have kept in secret..........yes.........in secret. You may wonder if these rumors are true and .......indeed I must say.....those are true. Is it true that I spent 5 hours at GOG.com, yes it is, is it true that I tried the 80% personal surprise discount on a 450th wishlisted game, yes it is, and above all, are those 200+ email receipts genuine, well, of course they are.
Now, I think you need at least an explanation, in these days of festivity that approaches I was hoping to bring you a surprise, yes, a surprise in the form of games. I´ve been getting letters from a lot of people, every time a game was mentioned I added to the wishlist and then I would wait for it to be on discount so as to not waste our money, but to maximize its usefulness, to get the most games with the least amount of money spent, remember that we don´t pay with money, we pay with time of our lives wasted on work to get that money, so I was just thinking about you people, about what was best for your interests and your happiness. An in doing so I hoped to stand a giveaway with GOG games, why GOG games you may ask..........because GOG represents our ideals, GOG represents a free game world, free of DRM clutches that takes freedom away from us, others may try to DRM us, but, we stand still in a DRM free Tropico and we will not let anyone impose DRM on us, yes people of Tropico as much as GOG fights for a DRM free world, we´ll do the same for a free Tropico, we´ll support them and at the same time you´ll be able to enjoy those games with freedom.................It may not be a surprise anymore as I hope, thanks to Betty, who, you may not know, but also wrote asking for HoMM5..............................and though the surprise is gone...let me say that, the joy is just starting because you´ll get a GOG DRM free game giveaway like no other.......................for a free DRM game world and a DRM free Tropico.

How to torture Betty Boom aka Slow and Painful Death of Betty Boom:

Best leave her alone for now but start harassing her family. Her brother Rodrigo is a sugar farmer and her other brother Manolo is in charge for hiring plantation workers. El Presidente announces that Tropico is switching its whole farming productions to tobacco farming because the soil is perfect for that. The farm Rodrigo worked at is demolished because the soil there is not suitable for tobacco. Manolo hires Rodrigo on another farm. Inspection is sent to that farm. Rodrigo is fired because "what a sugar farmer knows about tobacco farming" and Manolo is thrown in jail for nepotism. Rodrigo has no money for rent and is evicted and now lives in a shack. All this is connected to Betty in an front page article in Tropican Post. Betty goes berserk and form a rebel party with her most devoted followers. The rebels are no match for El Presidente's generals and well trained soldiers and they are captured very quickly. Betty is publicly executed for trying to pull coup d'état. Her followers are sentenced to 25 years of prison, because El Presidente is merciful and this is accepted with enthusiasm by the people.
On next elections El Presidente's opponent is a straw man. The Swiss bank account is progressing nicely.

You manage to defeat your higher rivals as well.
theslitherydeee has a nice strategy, but a bit complicated and prone to mistakes. Despite to "draggy" LoboBlanco has a nice tone to be the real Presidente... Ahem..no, no, I'm sorry sir, to be another "potential presidente".

What is even more exciting is you finally manage to defeat your most powerful rival - JonnyCash who has nice options with very fun bonus to US and USSR similar to the game theme! Not to say he can make the country rich because he is Johnny with Cash.
