I like collector editions but I do not like to install from DVD. It would be nice that Witcher 3 collectors edition for instance would also be available via GOG account. If one has one off course. The DVD's would also never get scratched or whatever.

Just a thought. Guess I'm so used to it thru Steam and Origin and miss it thru GOG.

Just found out that backup witcher 1 and 2 is possible for free if you have a CD key with your purchase.

Go to : http://www.gog.com/witcher/backup and type in your Cd key et voila...

Worked flawlesly for me.
Thank you GOG

It's highly likely (if not already confirmed) that the retail version of Witcher 3 will contain a GOG code.

Edit: Ah, apparently not. Oh well. https://secure.gog.com/forum/general/the_witcher_3_collectors_edition_gog_key/post2

Take solace in the knowledge that by the time your DVDs become unusable, TW3 will be on sale here periodically for about $5. Not the perfect solution, of course, but it's better than nothing.
