Doesn't seem right.

I purchased Wing Commander Prophecy when it was offered via this bundle a few days ago:

It's now available in the whole series bundle for a lower price:
http://www.gog.com/promo/complete_wing_commander_75_off_winter_promo_2013

It's only 50 cents, but really, this isn't right. If you're going to offer bundles for games, don't bundle them with other games and ask a higher price beforehand. This is like Steam offering bundles that cost more than buying the games individually.

It's cheaper because you have to buy all the games (or already own them) to get the discount.

I don't see a price match guarantee. But then again they have the money back guarantee so if they can't make it right well.....

Yup...

Not really. That bundle price is only valid if you take all the games at once.
Oh, funny that.

I would've posted there if this forum software wasn't abysmal. Did search, but there's no way to sort the results at all.
The larger the bundle, the deeper the discount. Makes sense to me.

Oh, I know, searching is hit and miss around here.

As far as the issue goes, I think the biggest problem with this situation was that the 75% off WC bundle should have been offered first. Then, the 66%, non-bundle discount could be offered and those that didn't want to buy the whole series could have their consolation discount for WC 5.

Yeah, this tends to be how it works with sales everywhere else. Big discount to start and a lesser discount for those that missed out on it (whether due to not knowing about it or it going out of stock, etc.). Having it be backwards is just.. backwards.

At least it was only 50 cents, so no reason to go screaming for a refund, but just the ethics of GoG from this situation are brought into question.

I bought Privateer (best in series?!) back in May for $2.50, but I'm not whining about that.

I didn't even notice it until now. :( It kind of sucks but as you say, at least it is only a difference of 50 cents. Silly game-overlapping deals.

Oh, I don't think it's an ethics issue at all, just poor planning/forethought.

And, yeah, I'm not complaining about having paid more for the other WC's that I purchased previously. My focus is solely on this all happening within the same sale "event". It makes me not want to touch any other of GOG's recommended deals, and that's a negative for GOG as well...
