Personally, I own Sanitarium, I played it, I beat the game... Honestly, I liked it. Do I think it's the best game I have ever played? No. Did I find it interesting? Absolutely. Would I suggest someone to buy it? Yes.

I enjoyed it, it was different than most other games out there and it really takes you for a mental-trip not of this world.

Reever: I don't think so, otherwise I would have gotten it, since it was on my wishlist (except the 50%, I think).

tinyE: Ditto!
Tell you what, you pay for half, I'll pay for half. You can play it Mon, Wed, Thur, and Fri. I'll take it Sat, Sun, and Tues.
That's only going to end in tears ;)
Not digital related, but Nintendo games generally stay at full price. I remember looking a couple months ago and saw Mario 64 DS was still the same price after 9 years.

As mentioned in the thread, Activision games never see much of a discount. When Modern Warfare 3 was a daily discount on Steam 2 days ago it was still $60 with 50% off and none of the map packs were on sale at all.

I also think Kingdoms of Amalur was like this for a while on steam. It was full price for the longest time after the developer went out of business. The Origin version got discounts as EA had direct control over it. Eventually the steam one started getting discounts once the right person was found and contacted about it.

d456: I may be wrong but I thought I'd seen sanitarium in sales a few times on Gog. Mainly September/October time around halloween along with the usual horror type games. Wasn't expecting much when I first played it but is one of my favourite games. Wish Steam would put Stalker series on sale- never played any of them.
Yep, you're correct. I've been on GOG for about a year and a half, and I think it's been on sale twice. I still haven't bought it though as I did play it years ago when it first came out -- loved it, btw and agree it's one of the best games in that genre.

Speak for yourself; I haven't cried in ages.

Thought so! Really want to play this again but have too many games to play. I also have Midnight Nowhere on disc, but haven't played it yet. It looks like a really dark game and actually I haven't seen it on sale very often either.
Most of Blizzard games, I think. Diablo 2, for example, is still amazingly expensive.

keeveek: games that I'd like to buy but NEVER go on sale are AGEOD wargames. And a lot of other wargames.
Actually, AGEod games do go on a limited sale around once per year. Last year it was for the 14th July in celebration of the French national holiday, but there wasn't anything like it. Now that they've paired up with Matrix it seems that sales will be even more rare and less steep, but they should go on sale sometime.
I've kind of rejected the entire sale thing now. All these games I will never play, so pointless and in the end EXPENSIVE, which is the opposite of what people think is happening.

For over a year I have been refusing to buy anything that isn't one of my core genres, and buying much less, and I'm actually much happier.

That's true. I don't even want to count how much money I've spent on games I will never play. Recently I only buy on GOG and I actually play the games on GOG. The only things I got on steam lately was stuff for cash from selling cards. And Football Manager 2013 which is awesome.

tinyE: Has Bard's Tale ever been on sale?
avatar
Pheace: Was it in the GOG summer sale? Devs don't seem averse to it, seems to have been on sale for android several times, and at least during the last few large Steam sales, including the current one. Would be odd if they didn't participate here on GOG.
It was part of the 50% off sale. It's on my wishlist, and I almost bought it.
Wizardry games haven't been on sale yet, but I hope it's only because they are still kinda fresh on GoG.

Bard's Tale was on sale (it rhymes!) this Summer.

As the OP mentioned games that were never or rarely on sale, Bard's Tale is still a fine example.
