Guys, just wanna ask you something that's been bugging me for some time... well, apart from the old Steam client, Gametap was the one of my first attemps on content delivery and I have to say that I was extremely pleased with the platform.
What really caught my attention there were the Saturn and Dreamcast games included in the service and the possibility of expanding the catalogue ( I remember a poll in their blog asking people something like ''if we make Panzer Dragoon Saga available, will you guys subscript?'') and then I was amazed at it. Really good emulation of several systems, "rare" ones like (sega mark III and 32x) and even their pc games were kinda cheap and nicely promoted. Well, I have to admit too that their client (between 2005 and 2009) was COOL too...
But then specially Gog, DotEmu and Steam emerged as reliable and nice services, and it seemed to me that Gametap was forgotten for good by me... until I found some screenshots from the saturn and dc games I had captured some time ago, some screenshots from their client, Gametap TV and etc. Man, remembering this was nice...!
Until I entered their website and found out that they're pretty dead, most of the cool state of the art and in house emulated games are gone for good and now there's just some games with Steam key. So, can anyone try to explain to me why a service so cool -that appeared to be at the top some years ago- is nowadays crappy? And how is it still alive? What happened?
Thanks!
