As the Dark Eye opens...

Realms of Arkania Trilogy, that is Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny + Realms of Arkania 2: Star Trail and Realms of Arkania 3: Shadows over Riva, a complex and extensive classic RPG series based on The Dark Eye pen&paper role-playing system, is available up to 70% off on GOG.com. That is only $3.58 for the entire set, for the next 24 hours!

In the Realms of Arkania Trilogy the atmospheric old-school feel, interesting game system and character development are fun, but the real strength of this games lies in their cool dungeons, which are chock full of tricks, traps, puzzles, and side events to keep you occupied for a long, long time. An epic RPG based on the popular German paper & pencil series, Das Schwarze Auge (The Dark Eye). Games that draw you in so deeply that the hours slip by like minutes.

If you're a devoted cRPG fan, yet somehow you've missed this somewhat underappreciated series, make sure to pick up the entire Realms of Arkania Trilogy for only $3.58 on GOG.com. The 70% off Gem Promo discount lasts until Tuesday, June 3, at 9:59AM GMT. You can also get just Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny + Realms of Arkania 2: Star Trail or Realms of Arkania 3: Shadows over Riva 60% off. Games already owned on GOG.com count towards the higher discount rate.

G-Doc: Keep it up, and your review ot The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, might fit within our review section character limit!
You should hire him as writer for Witcher 3. I mean, nobody cares for long stories and dialogs anyways. Battle, battle, battle, haiku, sex-scene, battle... should suffice, no?

OneFiercePuppy: No. You don't "enjoy" the Realms of Arkania trilogy. You suffer and swear and ragequit and come back and eventually drag your broken legs over the finish line, import to the next game, and repeat the process.

But that's what real old-school RPGs were always all about, wasn't it? RoA is a stat-lover's dream, for sure, and will reward munchkining and min/maxing with actual survival.

Well, unless you get trench foot in the mountains after your boots fall apart and you get caught in a snowdrift. Then you'll just die, no matter how awesome your party is. But, hey. You can always reload ^_^
Oh please, don't discourage people from playing these great games. They aren't very hard, I mean we were like 12 years old when we played them without any internet help and still managed. Now as a grown up with stats and everything on Drachenwald they are very easy to play.

Only now, could just about hit reply before the laptop power ran out. But it was more of a general rant anyway, because I see these games unfairly being described as incredibly hard all the time.
