I'm staying positive about this. As much as I love my GOG shelf I'd welcome a more powerful game library manager. Worst case scenario: if I don't like it I can opt out of it, that's the beauty of it.
Well, if Galaxy is done correctly, it would give me even more reason to concentrate getting games from GOG instead of Steam.

Autopatching is pretty much *must* feature for me.

Agreed, I want to keep the control I love having over the games I buy here

I have over 800 games on Steam, all with auto patching on, and I still have not seen this issue.... SO yeah, for me it works nicely. It has become a *must* feature for me also. Especially since I like alphas/betas with rapid update schedules. Good news, indeed.

Hasnt happened on Steam so far (been using it pretty much since HL2). Also even if it did happen to break something, there arent really that many savegames i would get annoyed losing. Easily worth it.

My games libraries are simply to huge to manage manually. I have no time nor interest to manage patches manually. Nice if the change is there, but i really want the "apply latest patch automatically" -function.

Dude. A lot of people like control over what is patched and when. Just because u had no issues dont mean others dont.

actually you can control that in steam as well if you want to.

Dude - I just said it is a *must* issue for me also, and I have had no problems with it so far, and that is a very good feature for alphas/betas.
no "Good News" vibe for me . . . (if thats in reference to that last announcement where there were multiple threads of Goglodytes going ApeShat with pages in the thousands)

looking forwards to the optional GOGalaxy client. ^_^

hope there is
- a screenshot hot key so i can record my triumphant victories, and hopefully some hosting for images.
- an "Off mode" for auto-patches, but a manual 'scan' of the standard GOG game directories / scan this folder and sub-folders option. where it will give me a list of GOG games that have patches i can download manually. (if i can finally keep track of what needs an update and manually backup the patches / and patch)
- offline achievements push to the GOGalaxy when i pop back online (with the same PC. i GOG game on 2 different PCs based on game size and power needed.)

would have been awesome for some Cyberpunk 2077 news though.
just got some 404 on the dev blog over there and some not found >_<

Until the recent changes it was auto on for everything and no option to disable all the updates in one hit.
No vibes at all here.

so even steam is getting better then eh? :)

cant say ive paid any attention to that, as i am (so far) lucky enough not to have any bandwith restrictions etc. I know those can be kinda pain in the ...
Well, considering how many times I've seen threads in the various sub-forums about getting a multiplayer game going, this might be a blessing for many goggers, especially if GOG manages to get some of the nice older strategy titles working(perhaps by faking the game into using the LAN mode over the internet?).

At the very least I hope to see a celebratory UT1999 tournament when this thing launches :p

that little option has foiled me a few times.

i had it set to off or 'do not update'

and it decided it knew better than me and updated my game.
broke all my mods i had (the reason i had it 'off' and i know it was off)

all my early access games are like this (saves would be broke/ known issues i would rather avoid til 'the next patch'), and would piss me off for Autoupdates.

would not bother me though for you guys to have that Autoupdate option though.
