They should work, but you may encounter some problems. For example 1.0 installers were designed for old Start Menu structure, so you may end up with lots of unsorted icons in Windows 8.

Also some games in 1.0 installers may not have compatibility fixes for Windows 8, which we added when we repacked them into 2.0 version.
