spinefarm: And wtf are you doing here? Go to Steam and stay there ffs :)
avatar
Pheace: Because unlike someone like you I am able to handle being on both Steam and GOG. Both fulfill it's own purpose for me.
Someone like me don\t whine about the prices here like you do :)

I do have Steam, because some of the games I play needed it. But their whole policy of overpicing for some regions is wrong for me. Why don't you go on Steam forums and complain about regional pricing? Cause nobody from Valve will even bother reading you :)

excalibunny: Are you so much of an argumentative fanboy that you can't see that people would like steam and gog both for their own reasons? GOG has been great for the niche market it provides for, steam is great for other reasons. I also have to ask you: What idiotic decisions has steam made?
For starter can you tell me diff between Russia,Ukraine,Poland & Bulgaria in sallaries? Cause Valve can't... I don't believe you can too ... The sallaries are almost the same but prices for Ukraine/Russia are diff than prices for Bulgaria & Poland(Yey we are in the EU so that mean diff prices for us). Same shit for New Zeland and Australia.

The support on Steam sucks. The whole: "We can ban you without giving you a normal explanation " kinda sux too...
Baning account for payment issues is idiotic and I have a friend that was banned for 10 days cause Steam support can't find time to answer him :D

It is idiotic to treat your customers like that.

Pheace: I didn't say I was downrating every post no matter what they said.

It's the ones filled with attacks or cursewords, or telling people to get out. Which are quite a few of them sadly.
avatar
gameon: Cool thats ok. Theres quite a bit of that on the forums though, especially curse words.

I dont get the impression spinefarm is a bad guy, and i dont believe he's being genuinely nasty. I'm sure you guys can agree to disagree.
In his eyes maybe I am... I don't care really :) I have my POV,he have his... so far he is picky ...so do I :)

Are you trolling or is your reading comprehension just so bad? Noone attacked GOG for not having big sales but for badmouthing other companys LIKE steam for having them. It is just stupid to do that and a very shinethrough way of competing with the bigger fishes without offering the same. And I believe that big sales are not there to kill competition but to make profit. As even stated in the article many people wouldn't even buy most of these games if they didn't went on sale.

And your obvious fanboyism and inability to use more than one service speaks for itself too.

You are wrong :) I use both GOG and Steam + GamersGate....
Yes you don't attack the pricing you are attacking TET cause he gave us his opinion for Steam :)

And by the way I love one of your big fishes: Kaufland... amazing piece of s***s ;) But that is another matter :)

See? This just shows you don't even understand what I'm discussing here.

You are saying that GOG employees are villans, cause they think price drops like that on Steam kill the market :)

XmXFLUXmX: Except that low prices are proven to stimulate economic growth, meanwhile high prices actually decrease sales.
And what exactly equal prices do :) Selling a game from 2011 like LA Noire for 2.5$ looks normal for you?

XmXFLUXmX: I haven't seen LA Noire that cheap, but you know what, that's a great deal. Yes, that is normal, because that is how free market Capitalism works.
LA Noire Complete Edition was 2.49$ on Steam(Ukraine store but you can gift it,no regional restrictions).
Yes it is a great deal...but do you think that game worth so little? That was my question.

XmXFLUXmX: Sometimes, a deal is a deal. Something being cheap doesn't mean it sucks, it just means there is low demand, and the company wants to increase the rate of consumption, so they have to lower the price. Again, a rudimentary understanding of Capitalism would help clear your head up of the whole "low price means I think poorly of it" thought process you have.
Yes it doesn't mean it sux. But droping the value like that for a game that new and keeping older games on Steam that do suck is kinda stupid :)
I don't think games like LA Noire don't sell good even on normal price... it was a highly anticipated title ...

And about Capitalism... For me US have Corporatism not Capitalism... but that is another thing ;)

spinefarm: it was a highly anticipated title ...
So was Daikatana, hype isn't much of an argument.

Yet they don't sell MW3 for 2.49$ :) Overhyped game that do suck :)
