Last year I made a post about games I completed in 2013. I would have updated it 80 times over the year, adding games I completed (67), games I was playing, games completed in the month, etc. It was a long post. It may sound stupid, but given the amount of time I spent updating it, it meant a lot to me.
I few weeks ago, the post was deleted. This made me sad. Sad because of all the work I had put into the post, and now it was gone. Why? Nobody knew.
I emailed support, expecting to be told to drink a glass of cement and harden up. I got a nice response from Firek, they weren't sure why it was deleted, they'll look into it and get back to me. "That's nice of them", I thought, but I didn't expect anyone to actually waste time looking for the post. It's stupid, right? Who cares?
About a week later I got an email from Firek, explaining that their resident IT superhero, Arek, had found the post and he emailed me the contents. (LONG) I was amazed. Two staff members had wasted their time trying to find a stupid post about some games some idiot played last year. They don't get paid extra for looking for it. gog doesn't get any money for finding it. They have no legal obligation to look for it. For me, that is exactly why gog is awesome. I have always found their support staff to be amazing, to go above and beyond, and, to me, this is a perfect example of it.
And that is why I am hosting a giveaway. To enter, simply post a statement in the following form "Firek and Arek are awesome because [fill in the blank]". The funnier, the better. The winner will be chosen randomly. The winner will receive $10 worth of gog games. The draw will be held on Saturday so that the winner can take advantage of the weekend sale if he/she wishes.
