BlueDNA: Im w8 for homeworld 2 on gog and quake 2. Could also be fun if gog could get emulation for c64 and amiga games. So im could start to collect giana sisters, ik+, etc

And wont all the game to work with linux, a easy way to install them on linux.
I hope not. That will just divide GOG's resources. They might be growing big enough for that but I would prefer if they kept to DOS/Windows for a while.

Kakihara: Apparently I have over 150 games. When the hell did this happen :(
That's what I keep asking myself too.

This was fun survey I general never do surveys but for GOG I made an exception.

xy2345: Edit: Never mind. I wasn't aware that there were already several responses. I guess should have scrolled down before posing a comment.
It's fine, I was just worried that I'd miss out on a free game. :P

I doubt that wont happen, they would have to get the rights to use the emulators and any needed system files and such and then hunt down the right holders of the game, many of which are in IP rights purgatory and so will eat up more time and resources that could be used to get their hands on more classic PC titles.

As for Linux Dosbox and ScummVM titles, yes Windows ones are a little more hit or miss.
GOG really needs to secure the rights to Wizardry 1-8 (including the Windows 95 friendly remake of part 7 called Wizardry Gold). That would be an instant buy for me!

Wizardry IP is currently in the hands of a japanese company, and I think there are still some legal troubles in either US or Canada about that name. So don't hold your breath :(
edit: Japanese company is called GamePot, has released Wizardry Online this year.

Agreed! Would love to see Wizardry on GOG, fun games but they can be very difficult.
EDIT: JMich has a point, the Japanese IP holders would make getting it on GOG difficult. Still, it would be nice to see those games on here. And I heard about Wizardry Online, I may play it, the idea of permadeath is a bit off-putting to me considering how many times I had to reload saves in Wizardry I. Effing ninjas with their critical hits.

Just finished the survey. For me, price is king - if it's too expensive for my budget, I won't buy it, especially if it's an overpriced new(er) game, such as RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. I also don't mind having a bunch of goodies - especially a game's soundtrack - but that's less important.

I also made two suggestions in the survey, First, have permanent product bundles, like making a bundle for the Fallout games on this site, for anyone who'd rather add an entire series of games to their cart in one click rather than three. One thing related to this I forgot to mention in the survey was that I think there should be discount incentive for buying a bundle versus all the included games individually, such as 10% or 15%. After all, what's the point of saving mouse clicks / item selections when you're not saving any money?

Second, I suggested that, in an attempt to prevent older games from being released in a state similar to such games as the Intestate '76 Arsenal, that GOG.com could survey their customers to see what kind of hardware configurations they have; this way, GOG.com can evaluate whether their test machines accurately reflect what the majority of their customers own (in terms of computers). They could also invite certain GOG.com customers to a private beta for their re-releases of older games to help see whether they meet GOG.com's standards.

I know, apparently they still make Wizardry games for unconventional platforms (cellular telephones and the like) over there, but the ones in which I'm interested I don't think have been touched since 2002 at the very latest, and I don't think those overlap or have anything in common with any of the Japanese-specific titles except in name only. I was so happy to learn back in 2009 about GOG carrying the classic Sir-Tech Jagged Alliance titles, but quite disappointed to see an absence of the other notable Sir-Tech fantasy/sci-fi role playing franchise. GOG has Ultima, it has Might & Magic, and now it needs Wizardry to complete the legendary CRPG triumvirate!

bazilisek: Some very good questions there; I'd love to see the data, even though I suspect I won't. Whoever made that survey has a very good feel for the current mood of the userbase, which makes me really happy.
Thanks. ;)
filled the form in, now i need to find someone who wants a free copy of RoA 1+2 -_-

Would hate it to go to waste
The strategy of giving away a game that many people already have with no alternative is weird because it prioritizes potentially hundreds of thousands of surveys from people who never had a GOG account before. It should be the opposite: "if you already have Realms of Arkania, you're a certified paying customer and should answer our survey in exchange for a free game or perhaps a discount on a game you actually want".

Wow, they should hire me for my marketing wits.

The Avatar has spoken! Although I think you botched Humility on your last sentence. XD But true, it would be better if it was like "hey, fill out the survey and you can have any $5.99-priced game free", or "alright, here's a list of 10 games, once you fill out the survey you pick one and you can have it for free".

Love free games, but still mostly buy games from steam.
