I've noticed that a great deal of games on GOG.com that I would like to have mods... well, don't. Surprisingly to me, the only games I've modded was HoMM3 with the HD mod and Total Annihilation with... various things :D Two others were Descent with the DX1-Rebirth thingy, and SS2 with all those mods in the "Mod Spotlight" thread for the game.
Take Sacrifice and Hostile Waters for example. I can forgive(for lack of a better term, I used "forgive" but I am not actually mad) Sacrifice for this because they at least showed that they care about custom content by giving players some way to create content for the game with the Scapex map editor. IMHO, the game also has atmospheric replayability with its nonlinear single-player and competitive and addictive multiplayer matches. That's not to say custom creatures or other things would've hurt, however :)
However, Hostile Waters is an entirely different beast - with no way to create any form of custom content, a rejected multiplayer leaving the game a single-player experience only and a single-player campaign mode(the only way to play the game) about as linear as they get, there's not much reason to really ever play Hostile Waters again when you finished, unless you want to take the game for another go, that is. No maps, no vehicles, no scenarios, no weapons, nothing. Well, thanks to Nirth, I've been informed of a possible reboot to the game, so hopefully somebody(perhaps me if I ever get around to it) will suggest it to them :D
I know I don't have many games compared to several other people here(I have 52 minus free games like Warsow or Ultima 4) but for having modded 4 games out of 52, is a little disappointing to me :P It would be awesome, although I don't mean to bother anyone about it, if somebody pointed out to me some games that are moddable and do have mods, so that I wouldn't be so sad and modless :D
Also, if you ever want to know about a game's modability, you can always check out the game's subforum as most mod topics are stickied :)
