I think it's time GoG.com started supporting more platforms other than Windows. I am slightly disappointed to see the Mac version of Witcher on Steam and not on GoG.com, although CDP and GoG.com are the same company. Same thing goes for the linux versions of the new indie games you have added that have stand-alone linux installers (e.g. Trine). I am a great fan of Steam and I am a greater fan of GoG.com. However, I am starting to lose my faith in GoG.com due to this issue, although I own more than 50 games here.

There is always a possibility, but at the moment it's a very slight one.

When you buck up the money for them to hire more staff and get games working in Linux(I mean older games obviously) or acquire the rights to sell/host said versions.....then we can talk about getting them here...

If GOG offered Mac versions of games they'd have to support them. They're not set up for that. They'd need to have a very large market share for the Mac games to be profitable as they'd need a support team trained with Macs. All in all it's not really worth it for them.

But, I do think they could provide .zip files with all the essential files for people to use. I'm still a bit surprised that they haven't yet done that.

It would still result in a flood of support tickets that they couldn't do anything with. Ultimately as perverse as it is, people would be less happy about that than they are with GOG not doing anything at all to support other platforms whatsoever.

I mean the games that offer linux installers already. Not creating new ones. With the fact in mind that GOG=CDP, then they already offer mac support for the Mac version of Witcher.

Also, why do they *have* to support the Mac/Linux versions? They can just offer the installers or DMG/Zip files without any further support. Again, I talk about the games that already have these versions, not about creating new versions of the games they sale.

Well again they'd have to get permission to host those versions here, which could require them to redo the contracts they have to sell those games.....they'd also have to train in support for said versions(afaik in some countries you have to provide such support on all versions of things you sell, barring some exceptions on certain products and some used goods).

CDPR and GOG might share the same parent company, but not a lot else. As for why they'd have to I refer you to my above post. I don't get why people would buy a Mac then want to play games on it. In fact I don't really understand why people would buy a Mac at all. But that's beside the point.

A PC is a tool. A Mac is a lifestyle product.

Personally, I'm avoiding apple products since Steve Jobs came back.

Yes, CD Projekt RED S.A. is GOG Ltd's parent company. Funny thing is that is now also CD Projekt Sp. z o.o.'s parent company mening former subsidiary has taken over it's former parent company :-p.
