I noticed that I definitely wait too long for GOG.com loading (switching to other tabs while loading).

I determined the page load speed with firebug: 2.4s and 1.7 MB transferred.

I used an external tool: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bbk9rB/www.gog.com and got 1.4s and 3.6MB transferred.

But additionally the content is displayed really slowly. Other website display the important things first and then load a bit more. It doesn't really make fun to navigate it.

For comparison store.steampowered.com: (http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/Ip7zC/http://store.steampowered.com/)
1.3s load time and 1.0MB transferred.

So is GOG.com weak on bandwidth or is the site just too heavy?
Side note: I'm currently working on a website as a contract for an external company, got the design, the structure and the behaviour ready and waiting for the client to set up the content. When I got it, they sent such high-fidelity images that loading the homepage alone was 80+MB.

Still laughing about it.

and yet if you needed a high res image, they'd have blown up a 100x100 pixel image to gigantic proportions...

...ad yes, I'm finding it slow recently - sometimes the page never fully loads. Usually it's one of the faster loading pages I frequent, so I guess there are too many GOGbears in the servers again...
At least it's faster than Humble Bundle. I don't know what the hell is wrong with that site at the moment, but these days it takes more than 10 seconds to load for me, on any machine and connection.

"doesn't make fun anymore"

Navigating a website is considered fun now? But then again, we have a paint drying simulator that people can play and "have fun".

Other than that, loads just fine to me.

This has been a problem for at least a year, I haven't noticed it being any worse the last few weeks, but I've had to reload the front page whenever I want to log in because of latency for at least a year.
Loads just fine for me .
Loads fine for me.

That said, you may want to try doing what my wife does when things are going a bit slow for her tastes: click the mouse button REALLY FRIGGIN' HARD.
