Looks like they're going to allow it!

Ed: thanks for the reminder :-D
I don't even remember if I read it in one of the books, got it from a source that discusses the books and world, or even from someone else using the quote.

Thank you, I'd hate to be subject of your distaste. It'd be an interesting experience as I can't recall ever really being hated, though I'm not sure I'd recognise it for what it is.

ChrisSD: What it sounds like to me is that the newest Chrome update doesn't play well with some software or hardware combination. These sorts of things are very hard to track down though.

You could try Chrome as a new desktop user (not just a new Chrome profile) and make sure you have as little as possible running in the background. Probably won't help though.

If it's a hardware incompatibility you're basically screwed unless Chrome fix the issue. Are you using an older computer?
Hi Chris, I am using an older computer, but not THAT old. It is a Lenovo T510 laptop. I love the thing.

What do you mean as a new desktop user?

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi, I mean create a new Windows account via the control panel and login as that user.

You can try disabling startup programs using msconfig. See: www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig

Don't disable Microsoft programs unless you're sure they aren't needed (most aren't but if you're not sure then it's best to be cautious).
