Summer sale or Christmas sale, nearly everything is on sale then. If you really can't wait until one of those two events maybe it's worth the extra 5 bucks...?

Buy G1 on a friday after a weekend sale is announced. If G1 isn't included in the sale you'll likely have 5 days of guilt free gaming before the next sale opportunity (the following wednesday.)

Gothic 1 was one of the very few games that weren't discounted during the Christmas sale. It does seem like this game will never go on sale.

If PB think it's worth $10 and not a penny less I can't really fault them for that.

I mean, it worked with interplay titles, I always mentioned that we want an interplay promo and we got one, surely it will work with Gothic as well?

Forgive me for stating the obvious but if you want it so bad then just pay full price. If you don't want it that bad then just keep waiting...

But I'm with you, I bought gothic 2-3 on sale and I've been waiting for the first one. I still have plenty of other games so I'm willing to wait. For now.

So I wouldn't exactly classify Interplay's titles are "going on sale often"

I wish, G1 went on sale. I already have it, only in Russian. The only feature I'd buy G1 here for is the dubbing, and I'm not paying $10 (or even 5) for that.

If you are into DRMfree-release mainly, I think at least sometimes the "Gothic Universe" bundle in DotEmu has been a better deal, but only if you don't own some of the games already. I'm unsure if that bundle has been on sale on DotEmu, and how often. Unlike GOG, DotEmu doesn't seem to sell the individual Gothic games separately at all.

Anyway, I've bought the Gothic games from GOG, and I don't mind even if Gothic 1 never goes on sale. Fine by me, publisher decides.
