Really want this only for the cat lady and I know 3 dollars just for that game is worth it but I dont know :(
maybe I buy it and made a giveaway for the rest :P I need to think about it xD

spoderman: Which was still cheaper than getting both in Ajay's bundle ;)
avatar
Stooner: Not by much. And you get more games :)
More games that I have zero interest in. I'll just wait for the Data Hacker games to get rebundled.. unless Groupees does another Dollar Days promo.

I'm pretty sure I bought The Cat Lady here for full price and I can honestly say that it was worth every single cent. You could always do a giveaway with the games you don't want from the bundle, or trade them or something.

Niggles: How would you measure this up to the other goose eggs of bundles this week (they are pretty much all shit as well)? (i dont include bundlestars as they are just a publisher hoovering up games and selling on cheap)
I would say that the vast majority of bundles over the past two months have been universally crap. Most of them have been repeats of the same games over and over again. How many times has The Cat Lady been bundled now? Must be at least four times now.

I think we're honestly seeing an end to the bundle phenomenon now as developers try to find more profitable ways of selling their game. I don't fancy their chances too much though. It was bundles that put them on the map in the first place (honestly, who gave a shit about indie games before Humble Bundle came about?)

Thats the thing isnt it? you cant get much lower than the prices of most of the indie bundles right now. I mean sheesh do any of the devs who throw their games into these bundles make much of anything? (wasnt the point of these bundles initially to give games that where end of line a breath of fresh air....for a short time?)
This bundle is indeed lame, i'll pass and just wait for Groupees next Clash of the World bundle.
Enola seems to be available as a drm-free download. However I guess the link won't be updated along the build, contrary to Desura.
At least all games are DRM-free and if you missed The Cat Lady or the Data Hacker games by now, I think the bundle is well worth the money.

I think the problem with bundles today is that there are so many of them by now that you will automatically run into some repeats in almost every bundle.
Also pay-what-you-want turned into pay-the-lowest-price-possible for many gamers (and not into pay-what-you-think-is-fair) and so you often see people complaining that a bundle is to expensive if you have to pay more than $1 (which more or less means that they expect the developers to give away their games for free).

Somehow I don't think that can be a lucrative business model for a long time and I expect some bundle sites to disappear sooner or later and the other ones adjusting their prices or changing their selling strategies (e.g. build your own bundle and pay for each game the way Groupees already does sometimes).

Sachys: have you already got Cat Lady I presume? - if not, thats worth grabbing!

genkicolleen: I love games from Phoenix Online, but I've been avoiding The Cat Lady, as I read that it's incredibly dark. I loved Cognition, of course...
"The Cat Lady" should probably not be seen as a Phoenix game. The dev just uses the Phoenix store as one of the many ways to sell the game, at a time when the game was already finished and sold elsewhere for quite some time. Phoenix had no input in the development or anything, really.

I'm not saying whether that's a good or a bad thing (I couldn't tell since I only played the game for about 10 minutes), just pointing out that the game doesn't have many similarities with the stuff that Phoenix created themselves.
From Desura:

Enola

This game is a work in progress. Regular updates will be released, but bugs and missing features are to be expected. By purchasing the game now at this early stage you are alpha-funding its development and getting it for a lower price.

It's said that since I first picked up the game last year. It has been bundled and put on sale I don't know how many times. No idea if it will ever actually turn into a finished game, or if by the time it does it will be a worthwhile one. I can't imagine the devs expect to make much money from the final game, since just about everyone who would be interested has probably nabbed bargain access by now.

In my opinion, there are only two sites which offer (at least sometimes) DRM-free bundles and offer a sufficient return to developers: Humble Bundle (mass market) and Gog when they ran a 'build your own bundle' with prices between $2 and $5 per game (here the higher prices help). Looking at Indiegamestand, the 4 day deals often don't yield much more than a developer would earn in the USA in a half month. Groupees has low prices and not high purchases.

The steam bundles: IndieGala provides stats: Yesterday's Monday bundle has sold ~5500 times for ~$2/bundle. The bundle contains six games. IG also gets its cut, so that's also far from anything viable for the developers.

Thanks for mentioning it :D I knew that PO was hosting more and more games, but I wasn't thinking clearly -- the same with Moebius, actually.
They have added a bonus:

500 Years Act 1 Soundtrack and sheet music @ 1,000 bundles sold

Nothing spectacular, but at least a bonus.

... and if it's so disturbing that I lose sleep, I'm going to come looking for you, Sachys! Muwahaha~
