Alas, the aura of our winter holiday has withered over the years. We do still celebrate, but only in a general sense of family togetherness. Many of our traditions are long forgotten. However, a couple rituals remain: We drink -- but not to excess -- and we watch (American) football. Come to think of it, that sort of starts in autumn. Well, if there's a tradition reserved for winter, it's a honey-baked ham. Praise the lord! Amen.
